The Melbourne Radio School was established in 1984. Since then many, many students have gained employment and still are at regional and metropolitan radio stations throughout Australia and other parts of the world as Announcers, Voice Over Artists, Copywriters, News Readers, Sales Consultants, Promotions and Marketing personnel, Receptionists, Journalists, Music and Program Directors.

The Melbourne Radio School is now owned and operated as a division of ACE Radio Broadcasters, which makes it the only broadcast school in Australia directly connected to an active commercial radio network (which includes Gold 1242 / 3TR FM Traralgon, 3CS / Mixx FM Colac, 3SH / Mixx FM Swan Hill, 3WM / Mixx FM Horsham, 3HA / Mixx FM Hamilton, 2AY Albury and 3YB / Coast FM Warrnambool) with all of its up to date resources, expertise and personnel.

 

In January 2005...

... the Melbourne Radio School upgraded its Radio Course, in conjunction with the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) Course participants of the Intro to Radio Course receive an industry recognised AFTRS Certificate of completion.

As part of the School’s commitment to giving you the best possible training for your future radio career , we offer every student who completes the Intro to Radio Course an opportunity to participate in a week’s work placement within one of the ACE stations. This is designed to even further enhance your knowledge of a working radio station.

Many students have gone on to full time employment within the ACE Radio Network (amongst other networks) very soon after completing their placement.

In addition to the ACE Network, other regional and metropolitan radio stations throughout Australia also seek assistance from the Melbourne Radio School in filling vacancies . Many former students have begun their radio careers as a result.

As new radio broadcast licenses are issued throughout Australia, employment prospects are bright.
